Michael Brustein, a Washington D.C. lawyer with expertise in federal education grants management and a national authority on the Perkins legislation, will conduct a workshop for CTE administrators on significant developments impacting the federal role under the Perkins Act. He will cover recent implementation issues (e.g. reductions in federal support due to sequestration, supplanting, accountability sanctions, support for CTSOs, prohibitions on remedial courses, and programs of study). Michael will also provide a roadmap through EDGAR and the OMB Circulars, and how these federal authorities have caused problems for CTE administrators on time and effort recording, cash management, inventory controls, as well as procurement. There will be ample time for questions.
